Main rules: how to play UNO
If you are not yet familiar with the rules of UNO, we will explain them in a very simple way so that anyone can play. UNO is a card game, whose games can be played between 2 and 10 players simultaneously. The objective is to discard all the cards you have in your hand: whoever manages to do so first wins.
Step 1. Initially, the cards are shuffled and 7 are dealt to each player. One card goes to the top of the deck and the game begins.
Step 2. When discarding a card, the player must observe some rules: for example, it is only possible to discard cards of the same color, the same number or the same suit.
Step 3. An example: suppose the top card of the pile is a 3 of gold (red). This means that you will only be able to discard cards from the gold suit, the cup suit (red) or that have the number 3 (regardless of the suit).
Step 4. If you don’t have any compatible cards to discard, then you will have to resort to the deck to draw a card. If it works, use it. If it doesn’t fit, then you lose your turn.
Special cards
To make it more interesting, the game contains some special cards:
- The +2 card forces the next player in the round to draw two cards.
- The Joker card allows the player to choose the color for the next turn.
- The Joker +4 card allows the player to choose the color for the next turn and the next player in the round has to draw four cards.
- The Skip card causes the next player in the round to lose their turn.
- The Invert card changes the direction of the game – initially players must play clockwise, but with this card the round starts counterclockwise.
