Google Circle Search: The new way to search on Google
Simply put, Google Circle search allows you to easily recognize what you see on your smartphone screen. You just have to draw a circle around what interests you; be it a plant, an animal, an object, a word, a place, a monument or anything else.
However, at the moment this function is only available on some Android devices and you can use it by doing the following:
- Press and hold the navigation button (at the bottom of the screen) until the Google search bar appears.
- Write down what interests you and that’s it.
Likewise, you should know that it is not necessary to make a perfect circle to search for something since you can:
- Underline a word (useful for texts).
- Make a doodle.
- Click on what interests you and let the AI take care of selecting it.
- On your device, you can use the S Pen instead of your finger.
Once you’ve narrowed down what you’re interested in, just swipe down to see the results. Or, return to the image section to manually expand or reduce the search selection.
Additionally, if you want to complement the search you did, you can write an additional query next to the image you enclosed or ask it (with voice) by clicking on the microphone icon.
For example, if in your favorite series you saw a jersey from a soccer team that you don’t know, circle it and next to the image write questions like the following:
- What equipment is it?
- What clothes can I combine it with?
- What history does this have?
